Welcome to the City of Cambridge Cricket Club

The City of Cambridge Cricket Club (CCCC) aims to offer children between the ages of 7 and 15 high quality cricket coaching in an open, inclusive and supportive environment.

We welcome children of all abilities to attend our Sunday morning training sessions.

For those children who wish to play competitive cricket, we also offer competitive match opportunities on a weekly basis, across all age groups and abilities.

We aim to make cricket as accessible as possible. To achieve this, where appropriate, the club has the ability to offer children and their parent’s access to reduced coaching fees, bursaries and the use of playing equipment free of charge. If this is of interest to you please contact the club Chairman.

We look forward to welcoming you and your children to CCCC.

Club Structure

CCCC has been established as a Community Amateur Sports Club.   This allows the club to operate on a not for profit basis and within the gift aid scheme.  It is the intention of the management team to use any surplus funds for the benefit of the clubs participants via additional coaching, improved facilities and, where appropriate, bursaries.

At CCCC we are very fortunate to have a large number of ECB qualified coaches to support the children. Leading the way is our Director of Cricket, Steve Taylor. Steve is responsible for setting the long-term framework for the development of coaching at CCCC. As Director of Cricket, Steve will work with all age groups and support the individual age group Lead Coaches with their weekly training sessions.

To accommodate the ever increasing numbers of children at CCCC, we will continue to have a Lead Coach for each age group. For the upcoming 2022 season we will have:

  • Steve Taylor (ECB Level 2) will be Lead Coach for the girls section.
  • Jonny Kent (ECB Level 2) will be Lead Coach for the U15 section.
  • Matthew Holt (ECB Level 2) will be Lead Coach for the U13 section.
  • Richard Snell (ECB Level 2) will be Lead Coach for both the U11 section.
  • Saj Wimalratne will be Lead Coach for the U9/U10 section.

The wider CCCC coaching team has also grown and we will be able to draw upon the services of several other ECB level 2 coaches.  In addition, there are a number of ECB level 1 coaches to support each group.

League and Cup teams are assigned a dedicated team manager to ensure the smooth running and coordination with the coaching team.

The Director of Cricket and Lead Coaches for each age group will be available to speak with parents in person after every Sunday training session, or via email/phone during the week.
