We’re back! – CCCC 2019
That’s right. Spring has sprung, the IPL is in full swing, winter nets are almost over and, most importantly, CCCC is back and raring to go for the summer season!
With this in mind, please find below lots (and lots!) of details on the forthcoming season.
A new (but familiar) ground
We are delighted to confirm that Sunday morning training will now be taking place at Clare College Sports Ground, which can be found at the end of Bentley Road in Cambridge. For those of you who have been with CCCC for the last few years, this will be a well-known venue and a welcome return to what are excellent facilities.
2019 Fees and Free Club Shirt
Fees for the 2019 season will be the same as for 2018. Good news! Details of this year’s membership fees and access to the membership forms can be found on our membership page.
Also, for 2019, all children members will receive a free CCCC match shirt (white) to use during the season at no extra cost.
If you already have a match shirt from last year and do not require another one, we can order a CCCC training top (blue) instead.
We will be continuing our drive towards ‘cricket for all’ and will again have a bursary system in place for the 2019 season. Please contact the Chairman directly if this is something you would like to know more about.
Registration for the 2019 season is now open and membership forms can be downloaded using the following links:
CCCC Membership Form 2019
CCCC Code of Conduct and Permission Form 2019
Please can you complete and return these to us, either by post (see below), or when you attend your first training session of the season.
If you are sending by post, please send to:
117c High Street,
If you intend to bring your forms with you when training starts, please can you also email email@example.com to let us know you will be doing so. This will help us to get an idea of numbers and plan for the upcoming season.
Training arrangements for the 2019 season
Training this season will start on 28th April and will run until the end of August. Sunday sessions will begin at 9.00 am and will finish at 11.30 am. As mentioned above, training will take place at Clare College playing fields at the end of Bentley Road (CB2 8AW).
Children will be split into groups based on age and ability. These groups will be reviewed on a regular basis by the Head Coaches and the Director of Cricket. Children might be moved to a different group during the season, depending upon their progress and only if the coaches feel this is appropriate and safe.
As with last year, we will continue to have on-site refreshments during Sunday morning training sessions. This year we will be supported by Really Awesome Coffee who has an even bigger catering ‘wagon’ than last year! They will be serving teas, coffees, cold drinks, and hot and cold food during the season.
We hope as many parents as possible will be able to stay during the Sunday morning sessions and make use of their services.
We aim to ensure all those players who want to, play competitive cricket during the season. With this in mind, we have entered multiple teams in each age group from U9 (softball) right through to U15. We are also entered in the U11, U13 and U15 cup competitions for Cambridgeshire as well.
Please speak to your age group coach if you have any questions about which team you should be playing for.
Over the winter we ran a successful girl’s net program headed up by Steve Taylor. Steve is our U11 Head Coach and the Cambridge University Ladies first team coach. As we continue to expand the clubs coaching capabilities, we will now be offering all CCCC girls the chance to play in a number of friendly matches against other all-girl teams.
We hope you will support this new initiative and get your daughters to bring along their friends, learn about cricket and join the team.
