Saffron Walden CC U13 v CCCC U13 (Match Report)

Saffron Walden CC U13 – 105 for 1 (19.2 overs)

CCCC U13 – 103 for 3 (20 overs)

Saffron Walden Win

After winning their opening game of the season in fine fashion, the U13s were in confident mood going into the match with saffron Walden CC. With the two teams well matched on paper, a close game was very much on the cards.

CCCC batted first and, whilst getting off to a solid start, they batted far too cautiously given the conditions. Despite Henry Wilson’s 20 of just 18 balls, a modest total of 103 for 3 was all they could muster. Whilst this looked a below par score, they took to the field, determined to make this a hard match for Saffron Walden. And hard it was!

Although Saffron Walden only lost 1 wicket in their innings, tight bowling from Yousuf Choudhary, Seb Harrison and Henry Wilson ensured the game remained close. Even with such a disciplined bowling performance from CCCC, Saffron Walden reached their target with 4 balls to spare in the final over. A great game of cricket for all the spectators, if not the coaches!

So, unlucky to the U13s and well done to Saffron Walden.
