Welcome to CCCC!

Welcome to the City of Cambridge Cricket Club (CCCC) and thank you for taking an interest in the club.

We are now pleased to provide further details?regarding the structure, playing facilities and plans for the 2018 season. We are excited about this opportunity to develop a new colts cricket club in Cambridge, open to girls and boys between the ages of 7 and 15, which is in control of its own future.

Club Structure

CCCC has been established as a Community Amateur Sports Club. This allows the club to operate on a not for profit basis and within the gift aid scheme. It is the intention of the management team to use any surplus funds for the benefit of the clubs participants via additional coaching, improved
facilities and where appropriate, bursaries.

Club Governance

We wish to ensure you, as paying parents, are fully aware of how CCCC is developing. Each ?family? will be entitled to attend and vote at the AGM. Our regular committee minutes will be available on the club website for you to review and respond to. Initially, any questions regarding the governance and management of CCCC should be directed to the Chairman, Jonny Kent (Jonnykent76@icloud.com 07768982611)

Playing Facilities

We have secured the use of the playing fields and cricket nets at St Faiths school, Trumpington Road, on a long term basis. This provides CCCC with the stability to plan for the future. We will continue to use Hills Road sport centre for weekend and holiday nets.

Fees

Fees for the season have been set at ?80 for the first child, ?60 for the second child and ?40 for any additional children. Fees can be paid via a single payment on registration or spread through the season in four instalments paid via direct debit.

Bursaries

We are very keen to ensure as many children as possible can participate in cricket. To this end, under certain circumstances, we also have the ability to reduce the fees and provide playing kit free of charge. Please speak directly to the Chairman if this is of interest to you.

Coaching

The coaching team will be led on a day to day basis by Head Coach, Ian Reid.

Joe Uttridge, as Director of Cricket, will set the longer term framework for the development of coaching at CCCC. He will set the framework to ensure players continue to develop their cricketing?abilities during their time with CCCC.

CCCC draws on the services of 5 level 2 coaches. In addition there are a number of level 1 coaches to support Ian and Joe.

Each age group will have a dedicated lead coach and support coaches who will be overseen by Ian and Joe.

The competition teams have been assigned a dedicated team manager to ensure the smooth running and coordination with the coaching team.

Selection for the competition teams will also be reviewed by the Head Coach and Director of cricket in conjunction with the age group coach.

The Head Coach and Director of cricket will be available to discuss any concerns you may have in person after the Sunday training sessions or via email/phone during the week.

Arrangements for 2018 season

Coaching will be run from mid April each Sunday morning at St Faiths. The session will start at 9.30 am and finish between 11.30 and midday, depending on age group.

The children will be split into groups based on age and ability. These groups will be reviewed on a regular basis by the Head Coach and Director of cricket in conjunction with the age group coaches. Children can be moved to a different groups depending on their progress during the
season.

Refreshments will be available to purchase during and at the end of each session. These will be provided at cost.

Competitions

We have entered the following teams in CYC competitions:

  • Under 10
  • Under 11 (three teams)
  • Under 13
  • Under 15 (county cup only)

There is no obligation to play in a competition side, but we hope as many children as possible will be able to participate in a competition side during the season.

Adult cricket

In previous years a number of the older children have participated in adult cricket on a Saturday will the help and supervision of some of the coaching team. We will continue to provide a pathway in to adult cricket for those children who are interested. Please speak to the Head coach or Chairman if
this is of interest to you.
